U.S. stock index futures are mostly down slightly

Futures on the DJIA index rose by 0.01% to 17626 points, futures on the index of high-tech companies NASDAQ decreased by 0.07% to 4359.50 points, futures on the broad market index S&P 500 fell by 0.04% to 2066 points.

Futures on U.S. stock indices on Thursday show predominantly weak-negative dynamics on the background of statistics on the country’s labor market, according to trading data.

As of 15.49 Moscow time, the futures on the DJIA index rose by 0.01% to 17626 points, the futures on the index of high-tech companies NASDAQ decreased by 0.07% to 4359.50 points, the futures on the broad market index S&P 500 fell by 0.04% to 2066 points.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the number of initial applications for unemployment benefits in the country for the week ending June 25, increased by 10 thousand compared to the revised figure of the previous week and amounted to 268 thousand. Analysts expected an increase of 8 thousand compared to the previous week’s figure – up to 267 thousand from 259 thousand.

The previous week’s figure was revised downward to 258 thousand.

The number of people receiving unemployment benefits in the U.S. for the week ending June 18, decreased by 20 thousand compared to the revised figure of the previous week and amounted to 2.120 million people. The previous week’s figure was revised downward – from 2.142 to 2.140 million people.
